Trouble with Home bouton after replacement

After replacing the touch screen and the home bouton on an iPad7, I can hear a click when pressing the bouton but the iPad doesn't react at all.

If I just disconned an reconnect the home bouton, the iPad reacts as if I'm pressing the home bouton althought I'm not.

Any idea on what to do to fix it ?

After a hard reset, the iPad keeps starting the restore mode.

It only starts up "correctly" when disconnecting the replaced home bouton.

I will try with a new home bouton tomorrow to see if it solves the problem.

The home bouton I had bought for replacement was defective.

I've received a new home bouton today and after replacing the second one by this third, it works again.
