I accidentally unplugged iPod while syncing, iPod don't work, how fix?

As my question said, I accidentally unplugged my iPod while doing a sync, now my iPod isn't working right. When I connect it, Windows doesn't always recognize it, Itunes says that it needs to restore it, and it won't sync. When I restore it, it restores the iPod but then it just does the same thing. I've tried restoring it again but that didn't work. I have an XP. What can I do?
