Select Button - Rubber contact pad slippage

I'm having recurring issues with the rubber contact pad underneath the center select button slipping. I've gotten pretty good at disassembling the iPod and re-centering the pad, but does anybody have any suggestions for an adhesive I could use to make a more permanent fix, as I've had to do it five times now?

Joe Seddon, if you are talking about the little black rubber pad that sits on top of the actual switch, I have previously glued mine with cheap rubber cement. I usually stay away from anything else like superglue etc. All it takes is a little dab of the glue, don't go overboard with gluing things together....:) Hope this helps, good luck.

Rubber cement was my first impulse, but I wasn't sure enough to just try it. Since someone says they had good luck with it themselves, I'll give that a try!

I do it on the once i fix quite often. Have not had a single issue with that. Good Luck.

I just found this answer and figured out that mine was off to the side and the cause of my center button issue. Just not sure where to put the light grey rubber square-U things that fell out though.
