The screen of the laptop is flickering. I was recommended to change the screen. Is it repairable

who recommended replacing screen? The flickering can be caused by many problems. Screen replacement would be the last option.
First open a CMD prompt window and run chkdsk c:
Then open a CMD prompt window as admin and run scf /scannow
Then look for the lasted driver for your video system and install that.
Now, if you have a video port on the laptop, try connecting an external monitor. If that doesn't work, it is likely a problem on the MB.
If you got this far without solving the problem and the external monitor worked, open the laptop and disconnect and reconnect the screen cables - search for how to open the connectors and be careful as the are fragile.
If the problem still exists, now you can consider if it is economically feasible to replace the screen or buy a new computer.

Micro center’s repair tech recommended replacing the screen. I have tried your suggestion, the problem persist but the computer works with an external screen.
