Main board replacement but no lights on control panel

Could not find a similar question after searching here. Replaced the mainboard on my (double door, with drawer freezer), maytag frig after I started getting flashing 8s and compressor started shutting off and on in short cycles when the 8s would appear. There was also a ticking noise during all of this. After a few of these over a hour period the screen went blank and a complete shutdown of the frig (cooling, lights inside and touch pad dark even when buttons pushed) occurred. Found a youtuber with exact same problem/symptoms and replace the main board with that advise. Now I do not get any cooling or lights inside and the only way I can get the control panel lights is pressing any buttons on the door. Then I only get the number 8s with nothing else. However when I press the lower outside buttons the icemaker door opens and closes. The only other issue before this was ice build up in the freezer with water occasionally leaking onto the floor. This had been ongoing for at least a year with me cleaning out the ice build ups about every 3 or 4 weeks. Suspected a clogged condensation line on that problem that I just never addressed. One other thing is visual inspection of old and new boards do not show any obvious defects which was also the case for the front control panel button board which I viewed. Anyone out there have any ideas of what I am dealing with here?

Thank you

Hi @rawhide11899

Here's the tech sheet for the refrigerator.

Tr and get into the Service Test Mode as described and run through all the tests and check what you find.

Also try this with the original mainboard as well, just in case there's nothing wrong with it.

If no good check if there's 12V DC on mainboard connector J6/2 and dispenser control board J1/3

Finally got to try the programming mode via the tech sheet you sent me but getting the same results. All 8.8.8. 8.8.8. on the read out. Tried using the Freezer Temp UP after the DOWN didn't work with no change. Also tried the Refrigerator Temp UP/Down (Service Test Mode) also with no results. The keyboard is not letting reset anything.

Apologies, forgot to add I am getting 12VDC to J1 but J6 is only showing .20 to -.20. If I am testing them correctly.

@rawhide11899

Disconnect the cable from mainboard J6 connector and then measure the voltage on J6 pin 2 on the board, not the cable.

It's the mainboard that supplies the 12V to the display board so either you measured wrong or something else is going on for you to measure 12V on display board connector J1/3 and not on mainboard J6/2
