Why does it sometimes go off when using or immediately after I boot it
it only turns on when i hit the keyboard

"OFF" can mean many things, so u need to be more detailed.
if hitting any key on the kbd turns the screen on immediately, then the screen timeout is set too low.
if hitting any key on the kbd starts the computer, then it was sleeping and u need to look at the sleep timeout.
if it does a full boot when u hit any key on the kbd, then u have a more serious issue.
