showing a needed connection to itunes symbol
My iPod touch just keeps showing a usb cord and the itunes symbol it wont go away what should i do?

Have you tried connecting it to a computer with itunes installed? that's ususually what it's looking for. If it's new, it will need to be connected to itunes before it can be used.
