Why won't my iPod work?

I had replaced the battery cause it was old. Since then the iPod doesn't charge at the computer but turns when plugged into the wall. Message says to connect to a computer to resolve issue. But it won't turn on when plugged into the computer. I had changed the motherboard. Same issue. What else could it be? i swapped everything i could think of that would affect the power and no dice.

Hi,

the battery to low message sounds to me like a bad hard drive.

Did you already try to use a different cable, maybe yours is damaged?

As asked by Crisb try a different iPod chord. If that doesn’t work try hooking it to a friend’s pc. If it works then you may have a USB problem. Are you using Mac or windows?

I have multiple cords and i have a pc i tried it on as well. just sits and doesn't take enough charge to be recognized by the computer. It has the "battery too low" and that's as far as i get. I'm starting to think maybe the hard drive or the battery is shot again...
