Which SSD do I need for this MacBook?

Hello, guys.

I was planning on installing a SSD into my Macbook Pro 15" late 2008. Intel SSDs are (as I heard) the best on the market at the moment because they are the most reliable.

Intel has different series, but all with higher numbers then 520 are for databases. So the best one I could buy would be one of the 520 series.

Question: Does this 520 SSD (would buy the 240GB version) work with my Macbook Pro?

Thank you very much!

Before buying this disk make sure it is backward compatible or can be jumpered down to slow it down. Otherwise your machine may not be able to see it.

Yes, this hard drive would work perfectly fine in your MacBook Pro. Though your MacBook Pro has a 3Gb/s hard drive connector and the hard drive is a 6Gb/s interface hard drive, you wouldn't get full speeds but it would still be incredibly fast for that computer. I would do the upgrade as it can increase system speeds substatually.

Hope this Helps.
