Removing photos from Photo Library

I have been trying to remove photos from my Iphone 3Gs library with no success. When I go to Itunes I click on the Photos tab and my only option is to "Sync photos from..." I need help getting photos from my Iphone onto my computer. Is there a problem that needs to be fixed on my Iphone? Perhaps it needs repaired?
