- Check the charging cable and power supply, by various methods:
A - try another parts
B - try to connect to the PC, some of devices must be shown as USB ever if shutted down
C - test cables using USB ammeter (costs 3$)
D - try to connect your cable to another phone, if it works and USB file transfer is working, that means cable is OK. - If cables are ok, test the battery
A - teardown the phone, measure voltage by multimeter
B - test the battery by special charger boards
C - recharge battery using lab supply. If charges, test the phone, will it switch on. - If battery is ok, examine the USB socket side
A - test, if 5V from cable appears on board, by test points
B - check, are the data lines on board not damaged (for example it can be broken resistors)
C - connect the cable and USB cable without plug. Put multimeter into diode check mode. Put positive side on GND, negative separately to the 5V, D-, D+ of the cable, check are there voltage dropdown on these lines. Check all lines, aren't they shorted
If any trouble on USB side, begin from resoldering the socket or change the bottom board - If socket is ok, possibly motherboard charger component failure.
