Battery and Ac adapter problems on MacBook air A1237/A1304

Please help! I am having the exact same issue! I originally bought a new battery from ebay as well. When it didn't work I sent it back and ordered one from iFixit and it still is doing the same thing as stated above. Is this a logic board issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

UT- Thanks for the info- This will save me the same frustration. I want to know what OS you Air is running. I assume that when on AC the unit works fine. Does your battery match the old one exactly for Voltage/Wh? This one may be one for Apple to explain if the Ifixit gang scratch their heads. I am still hunting for a solution.

I changed this to your own question so we could give you personal attention and to avoid confusion. Was your issue a bulging battery and have you ordered one from iFixit?

Download and run Coconut Battery so we can get an idea of what's going on and let us know your results. What was happening with the old battery? What color of light does the MagSafeAC adapter have?

The old battery was bulging. The light on the ac adapter will go amber for a short period of time and then go to green. Battery symbol has an X through it.

Red or black X? Yes, it makes a difference.

It is black.

Is the new battery from iFixit now swollen? Here's what Apple says to do about a black battery X: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1457
