My Apple 2004 iBook powers up ,loads osx goes into sleep mode?

I just started repairing a lot of ibooks.I first checked logic board and hd.Both appeared fine.I then rechecked all connections on the logic board.I noticed the lcd screen case was loose.I opened the case and found the lcd screen had been disconnected, removed some older duct tape and tightened everything.I closed all the cases and pressed the power button.Powered up and hd had fresh osx tiger started loading with voice.I turned off after the music and language option.powered down ,now when i power up loads then sleeps right after language option white light blinking. The battery is fully charged.I loosen allen screws and powers up then same thing happens. Now somethime will not power up unless I turn upside down or loosen screws re tighten them? Any1 have any idea what the cause is? Thank You!

Unplug the power adapter from the electrical outlet. Plug it back in. Make sure the electrical outlet is working by plugging in another device (such as a lamp).

Unplug the power adapter from the computer, then plug it back in.

Make sure you are using the adapter that was designed for your computer. If you aren't sure or if you need a new adapter, learn which adapter is appropriate for your computer.

Your computer's battery may need to be recharged. Press the small button on the battery. You should see one to four lights indicating the battery's level of charge. If you see just one light blinking, the battery needs to be recharged.

Disconnect any devices connected to the computer including printers, hubs, third-party keyboards, or mice.

Press the control key, the command key, and the power button simultaneously. If this has any effect, the computer will start up.

Reset the PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewl...

Reset the Power Manager. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431?viewl... When you do this, you may need to reset the date and time in Date & Time preferences (Mac OS X) or the Date & Time control panel (Mac OS 9).

If you recently installed additional memory, make sure it is correctly installed and is compatible with your computer. (Three blinking lights)

Remove the new memory to see if the computer starts up properly.

Your machine has no PRAM battery, it uses a logic board capacitor for this.

Sounds like you have multiple issues here:

Something pinched (shorting out) when the system doesn't turn on.

The other issue is your PRAM settings are messed up and/or the PRAM battery is dead when the system goes to sleep mode.

These are the first two things that come to mind.

I hve tried all techniques mentioned. The Ibook powers up normal then language osx comes on then within 5 seconds goes to sleep.I tried using without battery and just power adapter.I had different results would come on voice command then sleep. After 1second sleep auto powers on and same result after 5 seconds. Also the screen is without back light (barely see screen content),yet voice continues???when sleeps then powers on after battery has been removed.I am thinking back to trouble =shooting lcd screen maybe came unattached again?

Still having issue with ibook .I will leave on charging for 12 hours.Do you know of a black wire that would be in the lcd screen case.I am not sure what wire it is but,I did find one cut.I could not find where it connected to or from where in the lcd casing?
