Why is my dvd player saying "no disc" when I put a disc in?

DVD player says "no disc" or "disc error" when I put a disc in. I've tried cleaning the laser lens, still giving the same issues. I had the same DVD player for 3 years. If this matters, here's the full story. I was playing PS5 (connected to the same TV) and I noticed my DVD player ejected a DVD that was in it already. I noticed that was odd so I put the disc back in and it stopped. A few days later, I tried to play "Nothing But Trouble" a random day on my DVD player and it started giving me this error.

Also can somebody PLEASE make guides, replacements, and other things for this DVD player it will be really useful!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi I just brought a always portable media boombox. I turned the system on to DVD mode and then put a DVD disc in and it says no disc in it. Can someone tell me what's causing this problem or what can I do to fix this problem. Thanks.

@kennethjac42595 you did not tell us what model your LG DVD player is.

The most common error is of course a dirty or misaligned laser lens (we exclude the discs since you have already tried different ones). After that, you are looking at things like a failing laser diode, or a faulty spin motor. Of course, there is always the possibility that this is something that is not common, but those are things you want to start with.

Now, there might be a way of tweaking the diode to see if there is still seem life left in it, but for that we will need to know the exact model of your DVD player.

Here's the service manual that may help.

Go to p.3-15 (28 of 47 pdf) and follow the troubleshooting flowcharts to see how far you get.
