Magnetron always running on microwave

Microwave's magnetron seems always running when start button is pushed.

It doesn't do like the on off cycle

I might think the problem is related to the PCB board

The power relay (the one which supply the transformer) is normally open, when power on it closes but remains closed.

Any suggestion?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @davidetorneri

What is the model number of the microwave oven?

Sounds like the relay contacts are sticking or welded together.

Remove the pcb from the oven and then use an Ohmmeter to check if the relay contacts are short circuit when they're not supposed to be.

If they are, then the relay will need to be replaced.

Usually the relay type/model information is on the relay case. Search online using that information to find a replacement relay that you can solder onto the board in place of the old relay.

Thanks @jayeff

The microwave oven is Samsung MG23F301TCK.

I actually removed the PCB and checked the relay (it has 3 relay in total) checking with a ohm meter without power they are all normally open.

Tested them with a 9V battery they all close.

The PCB model is DE41-00377A

Does the timer count down during cooking?

Does the oven "beep" at the end of the cooking time even though it doesn't stop cooking?

If the timer counts down and it beeps at the end, then there's something maintaining the relay operated. Seems like there's a problem in the pcb timer logic

Does it do this on the grill function also i.e stays on after it has finished?
