Replaced upper case but still having problems.

I recently spilled liquid on my keyboard. The resulting damage was a keyboard that had stuck/crazy keys, keys that didn't work, dead back lighting and a dead power button.

I used a USB keyboard for a few days waiting for my new uppercase to arrive, everything was fine. I got the new uppercase the keyboard looked to be a newer version then my current one but other then that everything checked out.

I replaced the uppercase but the keyboard doesn't work correctly. The button presses result in a different outcome then what they should be, some keys don't work, feels similar to the problems I was having with my old uppercase, and the power button still doesn't work. Any ideas what could be wrong here? I can still use the computer fine with a USB keyboard.

Thanks!

There is another problem that has arised too where the computer will just turn off sporadically. This computer has actually had this problem before. That time I took it to apple and they gave me a new power chord and adapter, it seemed to fix the problem.

Sounds to me like you got the wrong part if the external keyboard is working OK. Please give us the last three figures of your serial number and we can tell you the correct upper case to get. By the way, what part # was your old one and the part # on the replaced one?

I believe you are right. The shut off issue actually only happens when the keyboard is hooked up too. The last 3 of my Mac is H2G.
