touch screen is out of sync, one square off
when I touch a square the one to the left activates, slide to open does not work.

Artie, the first thing you can try is to check all the connections. If they are properly seated and if there is no damage or corrosion to the connectors, it may be necessary to replace the digitizer.

Thanks oldturkey03, checked and rechecked, looks ok, have ordered new digitizer and will keep fingers crossed.
