combine iPod touch screen and iPod classic hard drive?

So, I really want an ipod touch for its use of apps, but i would much rather have an ipod classic for its IMMENSE amount of storage. I was wondering if it would be remotely possible to manually combine the two. Im not entirely sure about it. IN THEORY, it would work. Just simply remove the ipod touch storage, and attach the classic harddrive. But im not willing to take the financial risk of buying both, experimenting, and ending up with two broken ipods. So, if anyone knows about the interior working of ipods, please inform me on wether or not its possible. I encourage you (if you think of a way) to try it yourself, and let me know how it goes, and how to do it myself. Thanks!

harrison, that is pretty much impossible. The iPod touch uses NAND IC for storage. So there is no physical hardware per se. As you know, the Classic uses a Hard drive. You have no way of connecting a harddrive to the structure of the iPod Touch. It is just not laid out for it. The logic board circuitry does not support this. Always remember that, when it comes to the iPod touch and the iPhone, it considers your computer and iTunes as an external storage device.
