Repair guide, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse. Released in 2022 and identified by model number MR0077.

Returning to computer, Bluetooth seems to have failed on the mouse.

When I returned to my computer in the morning, the mouse failed. There seems to be no Bluetooth recognition of the mouse. The battery is good. The switch for changing the configuration on the bottom alights when you change settings. When turned on, the green power light is on. Turning the mouse off, the power light goes out (as it should). I have taken it apart and cleaned out all the crap within. Reassembly worked fine and again all lights indicate a working mouse.

Is there a fix for Bluetooth?

๐Ÿ”„ 1. Restart Bluetooth Services (on PC)

  • Windows:
    Press Win + R โ†’ type services.msc โ†’ restart these services:
    • Bluetooth Support Service
    • Bluetooth User Support Service (if listed)
  • Mac:
Toggle Bluetooth Off and On via System Settings โ†’ Bluetooth.

๐Ÿงฉ 2. Unpair & Re-Pair Mouse

  • Go to Bluetooth settings on your computer.
  • If MX Master 3S is listed under paired devices:
    • Click Remove / Forget device.
  • Put the mouse in Bluetooth pairing mode:
    • Long-press the Easy-Switch button (1/2/3) until it blinks rapidly.
  • Reconnect via Bluetooth.

๐Ÿง  3. Check for Interference or Profile Lock

  • Wireless signals may interfere. Try:
    • Moving away from USB 3.0 hubs or Wi-Fi routers.
    • Testing in a different physical location.
  • Hold down the Easy-Switch button for 5+ seconds to ensure it's not stuck on an invalid profile.

๐Ÿงฐ 4. Update Mouse Firmware & Logi Options+

  • Download and install Logi Options+ from Logitech's website.
  • It may auto-detect the mouse over USB (use the provided USB-C cable if needed) and push a firmware update or fix configuration issues.

๐Ÿ’ป 5. Test on Another Device

  • Attempt to pair the mouse with a different PC or mobile device via Bluetooth.
    • If it connects there, the issue is likely with your PCโ€™s Bluetooth stack or driver.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ 6. Reset Bluetooth Stack (Windows-specific)

  • Open Command Prompt as Admin:
bash
  • CopyEdit
  • net stop bthserv net start bthserv
  • Or fully reset with:
bash
  • CopyEdit
  • fsquirt

๐Ÿ”Œ 7. Fallback: Use Logi Bolt / Unifying Receiver

  • If Bluetooth remains non-functional, consider using:
    • A Logi Bolt USB receiver (if compatible).
    • Or connect via USB-C cable temporarily while diagnosing further.

๐Ÿงพ Conclusion & Next Steps

Given your description, the mouse hardware is almost certainly not at fault. The problem likely resides in:

  • Bluetooth driver instability after sleep/idle,
  • Interference, or
  • A stuck Bluetooth profile.

By systematically removing and re-pairing the device, updating software, and resetting services, you should regain Bluetooth functionality. If not, pairing via another machine can confirm the root cause.

Telling the Mac to forget the mouse and reconfiguring the whole thing fixed it. I'm glad I cleaned out the interior anyways. Thank you for your reply. larry
