Battery totally drained, won't start back up, for 5th time.

My iPhone 3GS has an incredibly annoying problem, it seems that many 25% of the time when the battery goes completely flat, it then refuses to start up again no matter how much I charge the battery (I've tried a few different wall chargers to no avail.)

The problem is fixed by ordering a new battery, but I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to "kick start" the batteries back into life. Because I'm now on my 5th battery! And the inconvienece of being without a phone for two days while my battery is delivered is frustrating.

Oh I am replacing it with the new model number 3GS batteries "616-0435"

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure you're purchasing the correct battery for that phone? Is it possible there is an issue with your phone that may be draining too much power from the battery?

Have you checked your dock connector to make sure it is even charging? Clean the dock connector, and check the voltage on the battery contacts.

Plug the phone in to a usb port on a computer instead of the wall. For iPhones the usb port on a computer seems to be more reliable then a wall charger.
