How does it run in that range?

Will it start off slow or act like it dont want to really go the rpm get up around 4 and sometime time at just take a lil more gas to get it to go but after 40 its good

When it is not in gear how does the engine sounds when you slowly push on the accelerator? Any misfires, shaking, anything different in the way your engine sounds or behaves?

there no different it sound good

Did your service engine light come on? Does it just hesitate or does it sputter and buck when you are in that speed range? Right now I am leaning toward either a vacuum leak or transmission issues. I assume it is an automatic....

Options

When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? A partially restricted fuel filter can supply enough fuel for the engine to run OK at idle, but not run properly under load.
