The battery won't take a charge more than about 5% then stops charging

Its stopped allowing me to access the reboot or reset mode with the volume and power buttons and has stopped powering on for even a few seconds now. After the first couple times it starts charging, it stops reading that connection until I plug in a different cord and it repeats again

Try replacing the battery and check if that resolves the problem.

here's the ifixit Motorola Edge 5G UW (2022) Battery Replacement guide that shows what to do.

Unfortunately ifixit doesn't have a suitable battery in stock at the moment, so search online for MB50 battery to find suppliers that suit you best.
