The 3rd generation iPhone SE was announced on March 8th during the Peek Performance Apple event. It features an A15 chip and a 4.7-inch LCD display, similar to its predecessor, the iPhone SE 2020.

If I put another screen on, is Touch ID lost irreversibly?

I'm trying to repair an iPhone SE 2022.

I had two screens with me and I put the wrong one on the iPhone. Then I put the original one back on it.

Did my iPhone lose touch ID irreversibly when I put the wrong screen on?

Or does it keep your original touch ID data on the logic board?

Answer this question I have this problem too

What I meant was: if I plug another home button just once, does it irreversibly remove Touch ID information from the logic board?

@nevenjanko I understand what daniel and Neven are saying so I'd just like to clarify for you that no, installing a non-paired button does not cause the original button to stop working.

I'm simplifying here, but there's a certain unique number programmed into each home button that has to be programmed into the motherboard for them to match. Replacing the button means the numbers no longer match, so the Touch ID function won't work. However, the original number programmed into the motherboard isn't affected in any way by swapping parts and as soon as you put the original button back in, the numbers will once again match and Touch ID will be restored. You may have to restore the phone worst case so have a backup, but just restarting it should do the trick.
