1 Are the left I/O boards interchangeable with any other models?
My laptop has a blown left I/O board. I'm trying to track down a replacement in the UK, to save postage costs from the USA. However, it seems that supplies for the A1211 model are quite tight over here. I had thought that the A1226 model left I/O board might fit, but I see it also has the LED driver circuitry on it, and it's physically a different shape, so obviously it's not going to work.
However, I notice that a number of components are shared between the Core Duo A1150 model and the Core 2 Duo A1211 model I have.
My question is, is that also true of the Left I/O board? I've looked at the pictures you have in the parts section, and they do appear to be very similar - though there are differences between the colours of the connectors, and I can't tell if they are physically the same, or different designs. If they are the same, then it would increase my chances in finding a replacement.

I installed an i/o board A1150 on a mbp a1211. The cable from the mbp A1150 did not fit on the logic board of the mbp A1211. I ordered and replaced it with the correct one. The battery icon doesn't show instead shows an X. I am puzzled since the I/O board A1150 was sold to me as a fit for the A1121. Can someone verify this? Thank you!
