Green line in the middle of the screen after 2 weeks from replacement

Hi everyone,

I replaced the screen of my Pixel 7a two weeks ago, and everything went fine till today, when a green line in the middle of the screen appears every time I turn on the screen.

Does anyone knows what could it be, or what should I do to fix the problem?

Thanks for the time or any answer.

Answer this question I have this problem too

You're the second person with a Pixel 7 this week that this has happened to. I'm starting to think the screens are delicate and the stress of removing them from the frame appears to be enough to damage them. It is odd that it took a couple of weeks for it to show up, but chances are some of the delicate connections between the flex cable and the glass the display circuits are printed on got disrupted in the process if disassembling it.

Unfortunately, there's really nothing that can be done to fix it; the only solution here is to either live with it or replace the screen. Sorry I don't have better news.

Here's another person this happened to.

Replaced battery - now I have lines on the screen - Google Pixel 7 Pro - iFixit

Thanks for your reply!

The two cases are similar, but why the problem, in my case, is there after two weeks of using the phone with the new screen on it, and not immediately? If I damage something on my phone, and I mount the new screen (or as in the other case the old screen), I should see immediately the problem.

It is a bit frustrating knowing that there is no alternative to live with it (impossible at night, it is like turning on a Lightsaber) or replace it.

Thanks again!

@masa16484 I agree that it is confusing as to why it worked for two weeks, then failed; I don't have an answer for you about that.
