Get on the internet and download a copy of the operating system to a USB flash them plug that in before turning power on and see if you get the option to boot from USB. There can be nothing else on the flash when you try it. Also you could try Google searching how to access your exact laptops BIOS and fix it from there.

First thing I check for is bad SMART data - while it is usually not an issue I have seen drives with SMART warnings and high reallocated sectors so it is something to check. Don't assume it has issues, but do it as a health check essentially.

If the drive doesn't show immediate red flags like SMART failures, make a boot drive for W10 or W11 on another PC and then you want to select Troubleshoot, Advanced Options and then Command Prompt. Run the following commands (once one is run, all MUST be run):

  • bootrec /fixmbr
  • bootrec /fixboot
  • bootrec /scanos
  • bootrec/rebuildbcd

If neither of these fix it, report back and we will have to see what other options are available.
