Is the right side USB-C port part of the system board or a separate "mini" board? I can't see damage but the port is not working for either charging or for connecting external devices. Any other suggestions to try? Thanks in advance.

Check the power status of the USB-C port in Device Manager to see if it is working OK as far as Windows is concerned and that it hasn't been disabled.
To get to Device Manager in Win10/Win11, press the Win key & x key (both keys together) and click on the Device Manager link in the menu box that opens.
Go to Device Manager → click on > of Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the list → right click on USB Root Hub¹ → Properties → Power management and see if the checkbox next to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" has been checked.
If it has, uncheck it, click OK, close Device Manager and any other open Windows and then restart the laptop in the normal manner and check if the USB-C port now works OK.
¹ As I don't know how many USB Root Hub entries are showing in the list in your computer, you may have to check all of them, as above, as I don't know which one is associated with the right hand side USB-C port.
