Why's my Xbox saying it's overheating when it isn't

I just got an Xbox 360 from someone and it is saying it's overheating when it isn't and it has the four red lights. I already changed the thermal paste if that's the problem

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi!

Could also be the sensor. Did you checked the motherboard? Also check the capacitors if they are still OK.

Is the fan also working OK?

You can share some pictures with us, if possible.

Thanks!

Thanks for answering. Sorry it took me a while to respond. So it actually is overheating, I thought it was a false overheating , and the fan works fine. What do you mean by the sensor

Sensor regarding how fast the fan need to go (the hotter the faster it goes).

Okay, when it's overheating, you do need to replace the thermal paste! This will be a nice first step.
