The seventh iteration of Apple's iPod Touch, released May 2019. This model comes with up to 256 GB of storage and an A10 processor. Model number A2178.

I cannot get my iPod to swipe or reset.

I cannot get my iPod to let me swipe my used apps off the screen or even swipe to turn it off. I tried to reset by holding the power button and the round home button at the same time and it does nothing. I can tap my apps and they work fine, it just seems to be the swiping motion. I admit I am totally ignorant about all electronics so my terminology is probably wrong and I apologize for this.

If you can't reset via the screen or the power button + home button, you can force restart using the volume down button and the power button as described by Apple: https://support.apple.com/guide/ipod-tou...

Solved.

Thank you for your reply. I have been away from any technology for a few days and just now returned and checked this account. In the mean time my iPod did an update which solved the problem. I really appreciate the time you took to address my problem and I am saving it because with the age of my iPod I expect this to happen again.
