Why my New Battery won't charge?

Hi , i just bought from iFix it a brand new battery Truepower model APP6099 .

Out of the box the battery indicator showed a full range , so i've runned my macbook Pro model A1226 with the new battery without the power cable until the battery had no charge at all .

Then i plugged my power cable to run my mac and charge the new battery and as a surprise my baterry is not charging and the battery indicator on the top right side of OSX doesn't show any sign of a charging battery .

So i went to "More info" to check the battery status and the mac recognize it but doesn't start charginng it

So i did an SMC reset and still nothing happens ....

.....Help what's happening ? what do i have to do ?

Thanx

First, your machine will not start till you have about a 20% battery charge, Next download and run Coconut Battery so we can get an idea of what's going on and let us know your results. What was happening with the old battery? What color of light does the MagSafeAC adapter have?

In fact the charge indicator on the new battery doesn't show any lights at all now ....

Coconut says : current charge : 2643 mAh

maximum charge : 6096 mAh

@43%

current capacity: 6096 mAh

Design Capacity: 5950 mAh

@102%

Mac model : macBookPro 3,1

Age of your mac : 52 months

Battery loadcycles: 0

Battery temperature: 30,1 °C

Battery power usage : 0.0 Watt

, but the color light of the magsafe is green ......and when i take out the magsafe the mac shutdowns like if there was no battery in the computer ....

my old battery lost its efficience as it would allow me only 1h15 of energy
