How to remove broken back glass iPhone 14

Hello, I will be repairing a device in the next couple weeks. I am using a old broken one to practice on. For the life of me I cannot get this glass off. I have tried heating the back glass itwould not lift. I have tried with a mat and heat gun. I tried the combo of isopropyl alcohol too. Finally I purposely broken the back glass to mimic the phone I will be repairing. I'm just getting glass everywhere and tearing up the components

Nothing I do will get this glass off. Any tips would be great

I do have the front glass removed on my tester iPhone

So the old phone I was practicing on wouldn't come apart. When I did the repair though the glass came off super easy. I don't know what was wrong with the glass on the practice phone.

On another note. I replaced the front screen and back glass on the phone and couldn't get the back to seal all the way. The battery was dying super quickly. Upon inspection the battery was swelled. It was like that before the repair but I'm still learning. I thought it was crappy parts so I got an I fixit screen, and battery. Installed them tonight. I will see how they work.

Hey there!

I've seen this problem before! The best thing in these situations is to put packing tape (or something along those lines) over the back glass. Next, use isopropyl alcohol along the edges of the back glass. Then use a suction cup to grab onto the back glass and take it off. I found a good video here of this being done.

Best of luck!
