Two unrelated issues. The puddle under the dishwasher might be coming from the float switch. Look on YouTube and you will find videos. Could be other seals that commonly leak. Mine was the float switch.
Before running your dishwasher, you should run the garbage disposal unit to make sure there is no debris in it so it will drain properly.

Just to clarify, it sounds like you're describing two problems:
1) There's a puddle of water under the dishwasher, and
2) The drainage through the garbage disposal is clogging up.
Is that correct? Do you think there's a relationship between the two issues?
