Problem is in sewing machine, but relates to ANY MOTOR :)

Someone has done a wild repair in this sewing machine, looks like they've used epoxy resin to fix a small crack, then just spread the rest around for fun.

I don't know anything about resin, and only a bit about motors. I have 2 questions please:

1) The resin is blocking about 1/4 of the ventilation holes for the motor. Will this affect the motor's ability to cool down?

2) Is this amount of resin in general bad for the motor? Is it affected by heat?

Thanks for any help :)

@rosalindwyatt although not pretty, this somewhat sloppy repair should not impeded the function of the motor. You could go ahead and use something like a Dremel like tool and remove the excessive resin.
