Check engine and then no power on 2000 Dodge Caravan?

It died and didnt want to start on me and check engine light came on. Then on the freeway all of a sudden the RPMS went up to 6 and it decelerated to about 35 before I had any power again. I got off the freeway. I know its over due for oil change but it didnt get hot. They replaced the transmission sensors and I know it needs oil change but it went back into limp mode today. I don't know how out of no where my car is running so bad. Could some one have put something in gas tank?

Take it to an AutoZone and ask them for the free computer read out. This sould give you a repair path.

Jen, your suggestion is very unlikely, yet not impossible. My first suggestion would be that you go and have the vehicle analyzed. Since your check engine light is on, you should get an error code. Let us know what that code is, so we can try and help you further, if needed. Anything else would be nothing but a guess.
