Home button connector snapped!?

While repairing iphone the home button connecter snapped when disconnecting from phone. Is this connector essential? Do i have to get a new one? Can i keep putting the phone back together?

Do you mean the retaining flap that holds the home button ribbon cable in place?

Go to settings , general , accessibility, assistive touch to install onscreen home button to get you by until you get parts.
