Metal switch assembly broken

Hi,

My mute switch wasn't working anymore, it was switching to mute and back again randomly when the phone was in my pocket.

I bought a new (plastic) mute switch because I thought that was the problem.

When I got to the part where you remove the screws on the switch assembly and the volume assembly (to take it off)

As you can see on this picture:

I noticed the metal assembly was broken in half. It was a real hassle to try and secure both broken parts back in afterwards... I did switch to a new mute button and that worked for a day untill I had my initial problem again.

So I'm wondering, where can I buy that metal mute assembly you can see in the picture?

Apparently it's not included with the Headphone Jack Assembly

have you got a photo of your "broken" assembly? the metal mute assembly is separate to the volume bar (secured by a screw) and it may be you think it's broken but that's just how it's meant to be??

You can try Ebay, Alibaba.com, or dinodirect.com; each site has the part you are looking for, however, be aware of customer reviews before purchasing to decide which would be the safer route to buy from, if you need further assitance, please ask :)
