Free Shipping on Domestic Orders $75+

Officially released on Sept. 18, 2021, as the first flip phone in the CAT phone line.

Do you know where I could source a replacement USB-C Port?

I have recently purchased the phone but my usb-c port appears to be broken. A replacement phone would cost me over $100 USD. Does anyone know where I could potentially purchase the replacement usb-c port?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I know this was posted on March, but I recently have helped create the device page for the CAT S22 Flip, so I thought it would be best to post this anyway.

First I must ask you a few questions, I'm assuming this is a power or slow charging issue. Before spending money on anything, be sure to check if it might be anything else.

Other factor can cause similar issues, such as:

  • Faulty power cables
  • Faulty outlet
  • The ribbon cable coming disconnected
  • general dust and debris.

However if it is the charging port, I'll be honest the path forward will difficult.

As the time of the original question was posted, all CAT phone made by Buillet (including the S22 Flip) have ceased production, so it will be difficult to find the exact part. All CAT phones being sold are backup inventory.

While the charging port itself is an off the shelf piece, the ribbon cable it is fully connected to is either custom or no longer in production.

Here's the options:

  • My best recommendation is to get a battery charger. The CAT S22 has a removable battery that. As this battery is used by many phones, there is a battery charger that works decently. While this doesn't fix the charging port, it should keep the phone usable. (Be careful, many of these battery chargers are sold by skechy 3rd party sellers)
  • The next easiest and most time effective way is to find a broken or bricked CAT S22 Flip for cheap and steal its charging port. However, this is kinda of a lucky find.
  • Another option is to try and use the phones pogo sticks. Sadly Buillett never produced a pogo charger for the CAT S22 Flip. However custom online models and modified pogo chargers due exist. So if you have enough time and a bit of cash you could try this. Here's an exame of someone on reddit doing this https://www.reddit.com/r/dumbphones/s/r6...
  • If you are skilled and the ribbon cable is fine you could use a saudering iron to fully remove the USB C port out of its casing. I think one of the Adam Tech USB C ports has a similar dimension to it, but I no longer have access to the CAT S22 Flip to tell you the exact one. While this is technically the cheapest way, it also it the most difficult way and will require access to a soldering iron.

I know this is a pretty disappointing answer, but I hope this sends you in the right direction.
