shuts off by it self the I have to wait till it gets cold

how can I fix the laptop I only turn it on after five minutes it shuts off by it self the I have to wait till it gets cold then turn on the laptop why is it doing this

Please confirm the make and model number of the laptop?

Can you feel the air coming out of the vent in the laptop indicating that the fan is working OK?

Has the laptop been dropped or gotten wet at all?
