Water damage : no Sim password asked anymore

Hi,

My iphone 4S dropped into the normal water vertically and quite totally.

Since then, when I turn it on, it doesn't ask for the SIM password anymore, and therefore I can't phone.

I can use apps, connect through Wifi, but no phone then...

What should I do ?

Thank you

Christophe

So you had a PUK code on your SIM? If that's the case try a different SIM and see if you can call out. Does your phone show signal strength? No service? Searching? More information would be helpful.

The phone might not be completely dried out.

  1. Turn the phone off.
  2. Wrap the phone in some light cloth, such as a nylon stocking.
  3. Place place in a ziplock bag full of uncooked rice for a couple days.

The rice will pull trace moisture out of the phone innards. The stocking helps keep rice, and rice dust, out of the phone.
