Why my HP laptop displays everything with a blue shade

I have a HP Pavilion zv5255us Notebook and I recently replaced the motherboard (used and tested from E-Bay). The first time I rebooted after replacement, Windows gave me a serious error that caused it to re-start the computer because of the video card, according to Windows message and everything displayed has a blue shade (or other light colors like magenta). Text can be read but objects and pictures and videos are NOT. It prompted me to do updates and change setting from video card (set hardware acceleration to NONE) but the problem is not fixed. The laptop works fine otherwise. Any idea of what could cause the problem?

Cristian, try a live Linux disk (I prefer Puppy Linux) and boot up through your optical drive See what colors you get, hopefully something normal. In that case there might be some issues with your drivers for windows. You will have to download those and install them. The other thing you want to try is to attach an external monitor to your laptop. If you have the same discoloration, I would think that you have an issue with the video card. The video card on your computer is part of the motherboard and can not be replaced separately. Hope this helps, good luck.

Your answer makes a lot of sense. I suppose making a Puppy Linux disk is not that hard. Thank you.
