Cubby hole under stairs needs repair.
I can send someone picture of everything i see and i would appreciate if someone could tell me how to fix it. i’ll send you $50 just for telling me.

Seems about right but it might depend on where you want the door I suppose
Was thinking that if you hinged the door on the left side (as shown in your image) and use the exiting framework there, for the hinged side of the door, that way you don't have to dry wall both sides of the door. You can use one piece.
The door would have to open outward to make it easier to utilize all of the space.
There are lots of videos on YouTube that show how to install a door access under the stairs, in a wall etc depending on what you want.

Do you want the opening covered so that the area is one smooth wall surface or do you want a door there to make the area under the stairs available for storage?

@jayeff i would like to use it as storage, i was thinking cut out all the white, use some lumber and attach it to the beam of the landing and to the floor. then put up drywall and attach the drywall to the lumber. and put on an access panel. how do you think that sounds?
