I can play ps4 games only. PS5 games freeze right at the beginning and an error message shows. I tried the latest update and reinstalling the OS from a USB. The problem persists.

Do you have any M.2 SSD installed? It could be a setting that PS5 games automatically will install on the M.2 SSD, if the M.2 SSD is failing, you will likely have this kind of issues.
Does it happen both with disc games as digital games?
And at last, which games are having issues and which games work?
