What does it mean if the ribbon cable has a black line?(NEW 3DS XL)
I would like to know from someone who knows about ribbon cables, and This is a photo of my game console(NEW NINTENDO 3DS XL), and yesterday the bottom screen suddenly glitched and then went black, so I took it apart, cleaned it, restarted it, and it started working again. But the screen turned black again, and I bought lcd screen and replaced the bottom screen, but sadly the screen was still black. Everything works fine except bottom screen not turning on.
So I looked it up on the internet and found out that the camera ribbon cable or if other ribbon cables were broken. It seems that it won't start properly,
so luckily I found that these ribbon cable was a little rusty, (Upper LCD Screen)
had black lines, (Upper LCD Screen )
and some of the metal at the tip was kinda peeled off.
(Speaker Ribbon cable)
.
.
and it is difficult to determine which of these three causes the failure... I'm worried if it doesn't start up after replacing the parts, since I bought the lower screen before, do you think I should replace the Upper Screen now?
Update (12/16/24)
Thanks for the answer, @dan0 and @oldturkey03.
Unfortunately, the device is still not working after cleaning.
I did some research on the internet before attempting the repair and was very careful during the process, so I hope nothing else is broken.
Yesterday, while troubleshooting the issue, I noticed two potential problems. First, the speaker's flex cable appears to be damaged, so I ordered a replacement online. Second, it seems like there might be missing solder on the connector for the bottom screen. If my observation is correct, this could be causing the failure.
if replacing the speaker flex cable doesn’t resolve the issue, I’m thinking of replacing the top screen’s flex cable, which has a suspicious black line.
Lastly thank you guys for the comments and answers I appreciate it so much .. I will update again
Is this a good question?

Xaric, the picture did not come through on your question, which makes it harder for us to diagnose the issue. Here's a little guide showing how to add a picture to your question.

@xaric0510 that ribbon cable looks damaged in the 3rd picture. There is something that looks like a puncture. Use your multimeter and check the ribbon cable for continuity on that "black line" or repost a picture with less glare since it is hard to see even when zoomed in.
