No power up...bad dc in but good battery?

If my Ibook G4 has a bad DC in board and I put a new fully charged battery in it will it power up?

I'm trying to determine if the DC board is the culprit or if it's more than that...should this method work?

If you put a good, charged battery in, it should boot up with or without a good DC-IN board. To test the board, see if it will charge the battery up or start without a battery.

Excellent! Thank you....

Powers up with a new battery no problem. Nothing doing without the battery. Can I be sure it's the DC board or could there still be a problem post dc board, pre whatever else is before power switch/battery?

I have a similar problem.

The battery fully charges, but the computer doesn't turn on.

Could this be the DC board?

Does it work with the battery alone as Mayer stated in his answer?

No it does not work.

The computer is completely "dead".

I tried pressing the on button for 10 seconds, but nothing happened.

If I remove the battery and connect the power supply, the ring turns to green. (Don't know if this helps the diagnostics).

Rita, it would be best to create you own problem with all of the details Vs trying to carry this thread on with incorrect or conflicting info.
