MacBook works with power cable plugged in, but not on battery power.

Battery works fine in other machines. When power cord is plugged in the cable shows green (battery full), but battery indicator icon on screen shows no battery inserted. If I power off I still get same green indicator, until I close lid on MacBook, which then the battery starts to charge. Any ideas? Jem

ps. This was after a liquid spill. It's had full stripdown and clean with isopropyl alcohol spray.

Hi Jem,

You may try to replace the battery connector/sleep sensor board. If it doesn't work then the logic board could be faulty. It's a common issue after the a liquid spill. The battery charging system is often affected. I had the same problem with a MacBook after a spill and the logic board had to be repaired.
