Blu ray drive without a logic board.
I am trying to repair a PS3 slim, Model: CECH-2501A.
The drive does not appear to have a logic board on it. But rather a ribbon cable on the drives motor board that extends out to the motherboard of the ps3. I have seen pictures of other slim blu ray drives and they all have a board underneath the metal cover, like so:

The model number for the laser is KEM-450 DAA
The ps3 will not read any blu ray media. When a disk is loaded I hear it spin up, a few clicking noises, then an eject sounding noise, and then nothing happens. The disc has no problem ejecting.
Is this a good question?

ooooo. Duh... The drive board is built into the motherboard, or it is underneath the metal shield in the bottom of the case. So I should be able to just replace the drive/laser part.
