No Display on ASUS Boot Logo and Windows Before Installing Graphics

my ASUS x205ta will not show a image until booted into windows (lock screen). When reinstalling windows i hd to plug it into a external monitor to enter the bios and install windows. Still nothing showed on the screen until i installed the Graphics driver. However on boot its a black screen until the logon screen thats weird because for 8 years it always showed the ASUS Logo and the bios on the internal display however it now only shows on a external monitor.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@astralyxx just to verify if I understand you correctly. Nothing shows on your laptops LCD screen until Windows boots the graphics driver. Everything shows when you connect an external monitor, so right from the beginning when you turn your laptop on? Have you changed anything in your BIOS?

Hi, that is true. i haven't changed anything in the bios and i've also made sure to load optimized defaults.

@astralyxx try to restore the default settings in your BIOS.

by

i have and it made no difference.

@astralyxx so your screen is absolutely blank, no splash screen not a single thing until Windows driver kicks in. An external monitor displays properly right from startup?

@astralyxx that is indeed some odd behaviour and I am thinking that this is a BIOS issue. It behaves like you normally see when a BIOS has been corrupted. A black screen is one of the hallmarks of that. I would reinstall the appropriate BIOS and see if that resolves the issue. Look like you can get the BIOS from here Take a look at this and see if that will work for you.
