Optical Drive making noise after replacement

I replaced the optical drive using the iFixit instructions and they were excellent. Upon using the drive, it works fine but makes noise like it is spinning out of level or something catching in the reading/writing process. The higher the speed of spinning the less noise.

Turns out that one of the side braces for the optical drive did not get transferred over from the old to the new drive. After reviewing the instructions again and reinstalling it, it works like a charm.

If it's not a new unit it could be getting ready to fail. Ensure that all the proper screws, pads, spacers were replaced in the proper places, & not over tightened.
