Only half of my keyboard lights up, could it be damage to my keyboard, logic board or could it be a loose connection? The computer hasn't suffered any liquid spills but it has been dropped?

Benjamin, check this link to know how the backlight layers are assembled under your keyboard. Mayer could be right about your backlight system connection to the logic board, first thing to investigate.
