Options

My iPod will not hold a charge. Any ideas?

I have had my IPod on an electric charger and it works. However, once it is removed from the charger, it shuts off. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks oldturkey03! I only had this IPOD for about 5 months so, I'm not sure why the battery would go bad that quickly! I don't know if I have all these tools for this battery replacement.

Dan, if it works on a charger, but turns off when you unplug it, that could mean that your battery is no longer holding a charge. Replace the battery. Of course make sure that your dock connector is clean, free of corrosion, does not have any bend pins. Here is the teardown to give you an idea of what is involved. Hope this helps, good luck.
